Class Information CLASS SIZE Up to twenty (20) children are enrolled in each class with a licensed teacher and an assistant. CLASS TIME Children are enrolled for a full school year, five half days a week, in the mornings or afternoons. STAFF QUALIFICATIONS Pre-Kindergarten Program teachers hold a current State of Minnesota Birth to Third Grade teaching license. They have experience teaching four year-olds from diverse language and cultural backgrounds. An assistant, who is often bilingual, is assigned to each class. CURRICULUM Curriculum and instruction is guided by the Project for Academic Excellence Reform Model, and the Principles of Learning used in Saint Paul Public Schools, along with the Minnesota Early Childhood Indicators of Progress and the National Center on Education and the Economy early learning standards. ASSESSMENT Children's performance and progress are documented using the Work Sampling System of child assessment for continuity and follow-up in kindergarten and later years. TRANSPORTATION School bus transportation is provided on the K-6 or Early Childhood Special Education buses where available. |
